I have tried to hit the National Geographic Bald Eagle picture for a long time. I have considered it my unicorn shot.

Miniature faking is a post-processing technique, which involves selectively blurring a photo to simulate the narrow depth of field found in macro photography and some tilt-shift photography, making the image appear to be of a miniature model.

A few photos of northwest wildlife taken at the Northwest Trek wildlife sanctuary. There is no place like it for getting those close up photos.

I just turned a corner and there he was posing for this shot.

What can I say about this amazing bird of prey.

I was blessed with a good lens, a good day and active animals that posed for their photos.

I was just goofin' with some ornaments in the office and this was what I came up with.

This is a collection of animals I have captured so far. I hope to extend this library quite a bit further.

Every now and then I get a photo of my wife with her eyes open.

This is what my friends call my "Unicorn". The elusive Bald Eagle that roams the skies near my home.

I have tried and tried to get the shot, to no avail.

One of my goals is to post my great Bald Eagle shot on this blog for all to see. Until then the above photo is the only success I can claim.

Here is my Mt. Rainier photo. Everyone in Washington State has a nice shot of Mt. Rainier, but I like this one a lot, so here it is.

It is truly not easy to catch a tear on film.

I will quote what I wrote about this photo from my daughters blog.

"There is nothing more distressing than watching my daughter's enormous, innocent blue eyes overflow with tears, while her mouth becomes a gaping, drooling, mournful air-raid siren that pierces through to the core of my heart. I’m utterly defenseless."

I wasn't sure which of the photos from this series I wanted to use, so I chose a couple to covey the kind of emotion this early morning sunrise brought to me. This was a very dynamic sunrise that has not been edited.

What kind of father would I be if I did not post a photo of my daughter. This picture, I feel, is a great capture of her beauty, innocence and personality.

This photo was a personal project in HDR Imaging (High Dynamic Range). I used a shot from my Wife's Grandfathers farm in Michigan to produce a very dramatic exposure effect.

I know it's not "Northwest", but it's cool.

This image was taken at the Kingston, WA ferry terminal on a very foggy morning in mid winter '08. I thought it fitting to make this the first post due to the fact I used the image in the Header of this blog.
